orchitis as a result of mumps - sterile?

Post a new topicby goldy on Fri Oct 19, 2007 11:34 am

Hallo

My husband and I am trying to conceive for the past few months. Just a few days ago my gynecologist asked me get my husband to have an analysis done. I've read the questionair that will accompany the sample to the lab. One of the questions was if he had mumps and if so if it affected his testes. Well, the answers are yes, he had mumps in his twenties and yes it affected his testes. My question is; could he be sterile because of the orchitis or is there some form of fertility treatment for this condition?

I would really appreciated some feedback. If it is impossible for us to have children of our own I would like to know so we can just get over it and move on.

Thank You

G
