Hey, My name is Shannon and I am 38 with diabeties and high blood pressure. I just learned last week that I have high blood pressure and I am down about it. I’ve had diabeties for about 5 years now and thought that I was done with illnesses until age 80.

Shannon, please do not give up because you have High blood pressure.It seems to be part and parcel of many people's lives these days.I thought I should share with you that I am now on my 11th. hbp. medication,so there are quite a few more that you can try.Because I have S.L.E[lupus] I react to many meds. My body rejects many things apart from the meds, but I did finally manage to find ones that do their work fairly well.Yes, there are still side effects,like dry mouth and occasional sleepiness but after trying so many others I am settled on Clonidine and Lasix, a diuretic,with the addition of potassium .No-one likes being diagnosed with any disease ,but one has to learn to cope the best way that you can.I do hope that,by now, you have been able to find a med. that agrees better with your body.
