A bit nervousMy scrotum is now about the size of a small grapefruit (12 inches in circumference) around the right nut. It sometimes feels weird when walking down stairs or up steep hills and is sometimes painful. The pain is not severe and feels like it goes up into my abdomen. The sack skin is stretched tight enough that even though I am circumcised the foreskin is pushed back around the head and it looks like my pecker has shrunk. I have to be careful during sex because if I'm not I can slam my sack the wrong way producing sharp pain, as if hit in the nut.
After worrying about cancer for a while my uro confirmed it as hydrocele and I have surgery scheduled for March 4th. From this forum it looks like the only down side is possible longer lasting pain and that it does not interfere with sex or work or other activities (strangely, riding my bike doesn't bother me). Is this correct and how long before reasonable sex can resume? Also, I'm nervous about the operation - did most of you get knocked out for it? And can I plan on being able to take care of myself right away - not needing to stay in bed or have help? Thank you!
Re: A bit nervousi got anaesthetic for the operation and it only takes around 30-40 minutes and was able to go home the same day but i took a nasty turn towards the anaesthetic so had to stay over night, just felt sick really. and sex wise, i'd say give it a month and i was walking fine in about 2 weekss just take it easy. good luck!
