Hydrocele Surgery Factshi
My age is 38 years . I have been Diagnised as Hydrocele but not Cancer or Not Talking to Abdomin. Its my Left Testis which is bigger than right one. Initially it was very small size , but strted growing multifold over 3-4 years. Last year it was Egg size , not it have become Potato little bigger than Egg. Even right Testic also has some Liquid size like Egg Yello size. I got Doctor (Urology ) advise this needs surgery to get back to Nromal shapes. Doctor says , it can become 80% reduces but nor normal shape?. There is no Antibiotics used to reduce the Infection chances (10%), during surgery, this looks big risk. I am not fear of surgery , or doctors , but some doctors will neglect there process. Recently , one of my relative got Appendicitis surgery (not laproscopic), it got infection. They started Antibiotics after infection , they re-opned the Stiches and kept open . It took nearly 1 month to heal , the wound is still have some gap /visitble like Car Dent. Most of the doctors says this Hydrocele Wont re-occur after surgery , but some guys says they got it back. How to Handle this Situation , how to find good Hospital ,doctor to get it done perfectly without any risks. I found in NJ , Dr. Aftab hissain , Perth amboy , he looks like Expert to Handle , I have PHCS insurance . Pls advise with your comments , and also Good Doctor/Hospitals , success Stories . I live in NJ Edision.
Re: Hydrocele Surgery FactsI live in Missouri, so I can't help you on where to get the surgery done where you are. I will tell you to get it done! I had my hydrocele on the left side as well. I had the operation done over 3 years ago...I'm 30 now, and was told it was rare for men my age to develop this, when I was still 26 or so. The pain, and discomfort, that goes along with having a hydrocele just goes away after the operation. I do have a scar on my scrotum, but it's a small price to pay for being rid of the pain and swelling....
Please let me know if you need any further information....I'll gladly answer any other questions that may help!
Re: Hydrocele Surgery FactsThanks for the reply.
How many days it took to heal the Wound , I mean surgery stiches. Did you got Infection ? blood clots , any Pain during sex , after surgery ? What was the size-(liquid ml) of the Left scortum , before opertation ? Explain in detail pls .
Re: Hydrocele Surgery FactsI had 3 hydroceles removed. 2 on right side and 1 on left. The sizes were about equal to the testicle sizes. I used to kid that I had 3 testicles. The first time I had surgery in the Navy but was told I re-strained it and it came back. I had that corrected by the VA hospital a year later. The 3rd time was on the left side done by a civilian hospital. That was 15 years ago and no problems since on either side. The scrotal sack does return to normal. The bagginess goes away. The pain from the hydrocele was gone immediately. The pain from the surgery was gone and the wound healed in a few weeks. No blood clots. No infections. It was 3-4 months before I was comfortable with sex again. There was no pain but the scrotum was sensitive and I was very delicate with it for several months so I would not re-injure or cause another hydrocele. There is a scar on the scrotal sack, but otherwise everything is back to normal. I'm 45 now and all is good with it. Well worth having done. No meds can fix them and they will only get worse over time. Hope this helps!
Re: Hydrocele Surgery FactsIn my case I had to move across country about a month after the surgery. I think I re-strained it from the heavy lifting of furniture, appliances, etc. So, probably if you can avoid that kind of strain in the abdominal/pelvic area for a few months you'll be better off.
