I just had a hydrocele op on wed. (11/4) it is now sun. (11/8) my dr did not hardly talk w me and the hospital did not give me much direction. i have a follow up in 2 weeks w my doc. what cleaning instructions did you guys get i have been showering and keeping it dry, havent been "scrubbing" the incision area just letting the soap go to it then drying after. were yall told to put anything on it after i.e neosporin. i havent really had any drainage in the last couple of days should i still use gauze. also what does your incision site look like mine looks like chop liver. im glad i get to wear pants to cover it up! thanks for reading im justing wanting to compare various dr instructions and appearance.

the first week dont judge the outcome because my area was huge and if anything worse but now about a month on im happy overall. i wasnt given any information aswell nhs is a pile of wank. but i just did what you done dont be too harsh on it and just keep it dry and stay off your feet as much as possible for the first 3 weeks and youll be fine.

Two week follow up! That seems like a long time. I posted my post surgery story last night, should just be bellow yours.

The directions I got was to keep the area dry for several days, stay in bed for seven days followed by three days of limited activity. Use an icepack and Aleve to help with the swelling. Right now I'm super swollen, I'd say three or four times the size of a normal testicle. I'm not suppose to lift more than ten pounds for two weeks. I was a bit worried about how much swelling I have, but the gentleman who posted above me helped relieve that if his was swollen that long. I'd say keep an eye out for infections and blood clots.

Surprisingly enough, I haven't taken a vicodin for five hours and standing up and walking I only have a bit of discomfort. If I were you, I'd get another urologists input, as two weeks for a follow up sounds like a long time.
