CHANCES OF CONCEIVING AFTER PID

Post a new topicby katty1 on Sun Feb 10, 2008 12:19 am

Hi - i am reposting my question here as it is fertility worry. I am thirty nine years old . I suffered from PID - Chlymydia - small ovarian cyst on my left overy last december. I was hospitalized (mainly for the sudden onset of ovarian cyst pain. I took the remaining PID medication plus Clymydial medication in hospital. I did not require laproscopy investigation my ovarian cyst was diagnosed by ultrasound and i was rescanned a couple of months later, the ultrasound to show the cyst had then disappeared. I have had no further overian problems.. My periods are normal and very regular almost to the point of being at the same time on the clock every 28 days ..to which i understand is fortunate after PID I do not use or have not used the contraceptive pill or had any form of contraceptive device fitted in my life, relying on condoms for most of the time i have been in relationship. I am fit and active and have had no major health problems but i do take Eplim 200mg Sodium Valporate 2 enteric coated tablets in the morning and 2 at night ..for petite mal epilepsy i have taken this medication since i was ten years of age (i am now age 39) and i have not had a siezure since i was twenty years of age. I realize it is not advisable to conceive whilst taking this medication even though it is a low dose and of course would take the appropriate advice. I would be most grateful for any advice of the chances of concieving after PID ..I have been assured that all is absolutely fine regarding PID have had a recent pelivic examination and pap smear all is fine with both and i continue to have regular periods.. Im most concerned that information on PID and especially chlamydia have ruined my chances of conceiving . I have not tried to have a baby in the past but i did have a termination at age 22 as i was raped the trauma coupled with my medication i was advised not to continue with the pregnancy. Please if anyone has had chlamydial related PID and had a baby afterwards i would be most grateful for any reply. May i just add i had a trans vaginal ultrasound which the dr said there was plenty of healthy follicals or a lot of eggs. Thanking You
