Nesbit Procedure didn't work long-term

Post a new topicby rcf on Fri Jan 04, 2008 4:00 pm

I first noticed curvature in my penis about five years ago. It was diagnosed as peyronies, and I was told to wait a year and see if it continues. I waited two years, and it had worsened, so I had surgery to straighten it (Nesbit Procedure). It remained straight for about a year post surgery, and curvature came back.

I havent approached the urologist who performed the surgery yet, and hope that he might suggest an implant. I am also concerned that my insurance might not cover another go at solving the curvature problem. I am 61 years old, and sex is not impossible, but physically uncomfortable for both me and my wife.

Any suggestions where to go from here?

Call your insurance company and ask. If not, see if you can work out something with your dr. and/or the hospital. However, I would assume that insurance should cover it. After all if your heart stopped working after a bypass, they would cover another bypass.
