MY DAD HAD THE SEED IMPLANTS 4 YEARS AGO. AFTER BEING CANCER FREE FOR 3 YEARS HIS PSA LEVEL STARTED TO RISE. A BIOPSEY WAS DONE AND WE WERE TOLD THE CANCER HAD COME BACK. ABOUT 18 MONTHS AGO HE HAD CRYOSURGERY AND WAS DOING OK. HIS PSA LEVEL STARTED TO RISE AGAIN AND WAS AT .7 SIX MONTHS AGO. TODAY HE GOT NEWS THAT IT JUMPED TO 6.5. HE IS SCHEDULE FOR ANOTHER BIOPSEY NEXT WEEK. CAN YOU HAVE THE PROSTATE REMOVED AFTER HAVING THE OTHER PROCEDURS DONE? WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO?

He will have had his biopsy and the results by now. Doubtless the DR has advised him of the best treatment in the circumstances. If not satisfied get a second opinion. While I'm not sure, I think surgery is not an option. Find your local Support Group they will be a big help.
