post op psa levels

Post a new topicby vwnut on Sat Apr 26, 2008 6:57 pm

I had a prostatectomy last June and in november had a psa done with a resulting level of 0.03. I was expecting a 0.00. In april of 2008 I repeated the test with a level of 0.08. anyone know what might be going on?? The surgery may have left some cells behind. there may be a tumor, although the pathology report was good and lymh nodes negative at surgery. I am concerned.

The Dr who did the op should be able to tell you exactly what is going on, if not find another Dr soon, for your own peace of mind.
Good Luck,
