Testical pain with lump - post-opA year and a half ago I had a hernia surgery after which the surgeon told me he removed a fatty tumor from the spermatic cord. Immediately post-op the pain was considerable. After icing for weeks the pain subsided, but swelling of the involved testical persisted. The surgeon insisted it would go away, but after a long time he admitted that it was a hydrocele still saying it would vanish on its own.
But it did not, so he performed a hydrocelectomy. Right after the procedure the testical was the size of a baked potato and painful, but he said that was normal. In the meantime I was being treated by a urologist for BPH He scoped me and said my prostate was NOT enlarged. Nevertheless he prescribed daily Flomax and proscar and said I shouldn't stop it. (?) I went back to the urologist when it looked like the swelling and pain from the hydrocelectomy wasn't going away. He was abrupt, unfriendly and said I have no right expect better in view of my age! I don't know what his problem is, but I know what mine is. - Sharp, relentless pain in that testical. I can't sit in any chair with it touching the seat. So I'm on the horns of a dilemma. Do I go back to the tough-guy urologist or back to the surgeon who insists the condiiton is normal? Or should I adopt the habit of slumping in chairs so the painful testical is elevated from the seat? (Yes, I know, that's stupid.)
