Testicular CystsOk , for a few years now I have had what my Dr refers to as testicular cysts (benign). They are always there diffuse of the my entire scrotal sac but at times one or two will flare up and become enlarged (infected almost) that is very painful until it bursts with a fluidic substance with a bit of blood. This is a cyclical nightmare I deal with and I really wish there was a way to get RID of them altogether. Surgery is out of the question because they will always come back anyway. I really dont know where else to go, my Dr. seems to think that I should just deal with it because there are NO treatment options except antibiotics when one gets infected. This really takes down my self image a lot because during intercourse or any other type of sexual contact I am always afraid someone will think less of me for having them (yes ridiculous, but thats reality).... They are very hard too, not soft and only tender when they become "infected".
Any urologists with advice would be MUCH appreciated! Thank you,

I would recommend a hormonal panel as well as a testicular ultrasound with doppler studies if you have not had one. Are these cysts in the testicle or in the scrotum itself? The answer to that questions is critical as this may be hidradenits supperativa which is a chronic cystic disease of intertriginous areas of the skin (found in the axilla or "armpits"). In either case, this can be treated with chronic suppresive antibiotics and if it is in the scrotal skin, with excision and skin grafts.
Re: Testicular CystsI believe they are in the testicle itself since they are located directly on either testicle.. I have had three doctors look at them and tell me they are begin but have conducted no studies whatsoever but I am a little worried ... They say they can be treated with antibiotics only if one of them gets large enough to become infected (Which will always happen eventually, which would mean that I would have to be taking antibiotics quite often, and im not sure if I want to do that if im not sick).. The doctors I have seen are general practitioners, should I be seeing someone more specialized then?
I do really appreciate the reply, I am at my wits end with this and the doctors that I have seen just blow it off as something that is not "life threatening" but to me it is very important to try and get rid of this condition...
Sponsored LinksRe: Testicular CystsI would definately see a urologist - preferably with a testicular ultrasound performed prior to the visit.
