Does bell clapper increase risk for developing varicocele

Post a new topicby tubeular on Sat Feb 06, 2010 9:51 am

Does anyone know if intermittent torion increases your risk of develping varicocele I't makes sense to me that it if your testie ever becomes partically twisted that it can casue pressure and binding on the veins inside which casue defects to develop in the veins as soon as they get untwisted or stay partically twisted.

I twisted my left testicle; no "torsion" though. I now have a left varicocele (a swollen --damaged-- "[vein] plexus" (the vein netting draining the testicle)). Pain off and on _and heat issues: too hot and then ice cold for days_--certainly not bad pain. I am very tough though, so it might be more uncomfortable for you all.

My testicle has shrunk significantly as has my whole urogenital area (Bad deal for a boy, ya know!! ;-( ). My libido tanked too.

I find it fascinating that the scientific profession filled with millionair professionals called urology doesn't already know this stuff happens when twisting occurs.

I agree. How do you know you have varicocele. Did you get the ultrasound done?

Hey thanks for the response!

Yes two ultra sounds said left "varicocele". (Also the outer surface of the testicle has developed standard capillary old-lady-leg varicoceli [plur]. Problem is I'm not an old lady and this aint my leg.)

Note that the second UltrSnd at a different hospital didn't see my left epididimous. But their dr at the hospi and mine didn't bother to tell me or do the test over. (The hospi charged me 800 bucks in NJ economy [YMMV]; my dr charged me 250 X 2.)

Urology is a racket filled with the incompetent hiding inside the fact that men won't talk about this stuff.

-------------
I twisted my left testicle. It still has "perfusion" (blood flow). But there is no way to know if it is the same "perfusion" as before the twisting. I suspect strongly that it is not. Along with the varicocele I have developed the equivalent of "bell clapper" (the teste hangs low with spiraled sperm cord). This has all but eunuch-ized me.
