retroperitoneal """""microsurgical"""" varicocelectomy

Post a new topicby Silverback777 on Mon Jun 30, 2008 2:33 am

hey all :

i am 21 years old , 3rd grade varicocele on the left side , 2nd grade on the right , i am going to have surgery in about 2 weeks for it , the problem is , i do not understand why the doctor is going for the retroperitoneal approach ( the location of the incision) while actually doing it """"""MICROSURGICALLY"""

i mean he is doing it microsurgically , i thought the two approaches are inguinal and subinguinal , why the heck is he going retroperitoneal ???? can someone advise on this please , any doctors here around ??

anyone every had it done like this , microsurgically , but retroperitoneal approach??
