I was diagnosed w/ a varicocele in my left testical about a year & a half ago after extreme pain & a low hanging left testical put me in the ER. After I switched to boxer briefs from boxers , the pain pretty much went away completely after a few months. All of a sudden, 2 weeks ago, it's back worse than ever. After ejaculation, my groin & testical hurt BAD. Also, the groin pain has been coming randomly these days.
I REALLY don't want to have the surgery cause it almost seems like there's a big chance that either it doesn't help or it gets worse, or it doesn't heal right. There are too many horror stories from this surgery for my liking. There's quite a few just on this board.

What's your opinion on this surgery? Do you guys think it's a good or bad idea? This decision is weighing heavy on me. I can't believe this pain is back & worse than b4.
