Hi, I am 14 years old, and have recently noticed the upper inside the left scrotum appears to be swollen and abnormally large. It's hard to describe it, but from what I've read I think it's a varicocele. I doesn't hurt at all, and I would never had noticed it if I hadn't felt it there. I'm just wondering if I need to do anything about it, as I have read that often varicoceles do no need to be treated if there is no bad side effects such as pain or infertility. Do you think it will require surgery, and is it necessary for me to go a the doctor right away? Thanks for any advice/help.

Sorry, I forgot to add a little bit: Is it likely it will continue to grow or cause any pain (this is something that has formed gradually; I don't know when it started)? And is there any chance it will go away by itself?
