Variocele 16 year old

Post a new topicby Alex Br13 on Wed May 07, 2008 4:46 pm

Hello,
my name is alex (16 years old) and about 1 and a half years ago, i noticed that there was some sort of swolen vein around my left testicle, i ignored this, but now i have decided to visit the doctors about it.
i am very worried that it will cause infertility as i have left it so long.
My left testicle is slightly smaller than my right, but there is no pain from it at all.
somebody please reply,
My father also had the same thing, and his just disappeared.
Also i am curious, does this only affect the sperm count from one testicle?
so the other testicle works fine?
thanks

From what I have read it does affect both. Alot of write ups show that if the repair is done at a young age, the damage can be fully reversable. The size of the testicle can also come back. The younger you fix the problem the better you are later on. I would research having the micro-surgical approach / repair done. Everything I have read points to it being the most ideal procedure with the least pain, and the best results.

From what my doctor said is that at the 6 month mark you typically see the true results at three months you may not have fully healed. Under my urologists guidence I also took vitamins from theralogix, the fertility blend. From the articles i've read is that a good vitamin regimen can help with blood flow etc, and heal quicker from the surgery. I am not going to recommand you try it since I am not a doctor but check into it. http://www.theralogix.com Its a little pricey but they are one of the few vitiamin companies which are approved / inspected to verify the labels.

Dont give up hope.
